Transportation / Logistics company based in North Fort Worth with 25 locations across the country is hiring a Network Administrator for a permanent role.  As a Network / Systems Administrator, you will join a small IT department with a relaxed atmosphere and a great company culture.  Must like working independently and with a team, but must be self-sufficient to diagnose issues, research new technologies and solutions, and implement best practices for stable IT operations. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Network / Systems Administrator, you will be heavily engaged in the strategy, development and implementation of network systems, applications, security and configuration for the company's network infrastructure.  You will ensure that network systems and related procedures adhere to company standards and provide recommendations on improving the process and solutions.  In this role, you will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of network processes, concepts, best practices and procedures.  Also will need to possess a thorough knowledge of network protocols and security.  Additional tasks assigned, will involve: 

• Designing, installing, configuring and supporting internal and/or external network systems, applications and security.
• Developing, maintaining and implementing all company network systems, applications, security, configurations and standards.
• Troubleshooting routine and non-routine network performance issues.  Works directly with other company support teams, vendors and customers to troubleshoot issues.
• Creating and maintaining a disaster recovery plan with senior staff.g
• Upgrades and patches company network systems applications and equipment. 
• Working directly with vendors on patch research, revisions and deployment. 
• Working with senior staff on patch recommendation, strategy and deployment processes.
• Providing network technical support for complex issues and guidance to users and other IT employees.  Works with other company support staff, vendors and customers to troubleshoot and solve issues.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Expert knowledge of physical and logical connectivity and a detailed knowledge of network technologies, including but not limited to, switching and routing, firewalls, load balancers, VoIP, data replication, security and backups.
• Advanced expertise with a wide variety of network hardware and systems, to include but not limited to:
  • Microsoft Servers
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Nutanix
  • SD-WAN device (VELO)
  • SQL Server
  • Barracuda Firewall
  • Power Shell
  • Imaging Software
• Strong understanding of client and server architecture and operation.
• Excellent verbal, written communication skills.
• Customer service driven
• Strong team player

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred and 5 years of relevant experience.
• In lieu of degree, high school diploma or GED and 8 years of relevant experience.
