Our Client is in an exciting period of growth and they are looking to expand their service desk with an experienced EMC Storage Tier 2/3 Support Engineer.  Specifically, they are looking for experience in EMC VMAX, VNX/Clarion(Block/Unified), Isilon, XtremIO, Symmetrix, and DMX systems. Qualified applicants will have hands on experience with the storage devices, be able to change out faulty components, troubleshoot systems, and modify bin files. 

 

The Technical Support Engineer II is required to be fully trained in VNX/Unity hardware and software and to understand the interactions that occur between EMC Products and vendor’s products in order to be able to provide the quickest resolution possible for a customer issue related to the VNX/Unity storage array and customer SAN environment.

Work with customer based storage specialists and Customer Engineers to troubleshoot issues regarding VNX/Unity, Fabric, or Server issues in the customers SAN environment.

Experienced and skilled with collaborating between different internal groups such as OS, Connectivity, NAS, EDL and Unisys partners in troubleshooting customer issues and determining if issues need field technical assistance for resolution.

Responsible for documentation of issues and the corrective actions taken including keeping track of the duration for customer issue resolution.  Apply appropriate priority and escalation measures dependent upon the specified problem and Service Level Objective agreements with specified parties.

Alternate locations for highly qualified applicants include Boston, Austin, and RTP (NC).

Qualifications

  • You’ll work with a team that actively supports many hardware solutions from storage to servers to networking while providing SME level knowledge of storage solutions
  • Experience with EMC Storage systems, specifically VNX/Clarion, VMAX, and Isilon are a huge plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A desire to continue learning while working in an exciting and growing environment.

Desired Certifications / Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
  • 4 plus years of experience
  • Or 4 years of direct EMC storage experience in lieu of Bachelors degree.
